Barrett's Wessex (Wessex Friends of Barrett's Oesophagus Campaign)
Orange Zone, Stall 63
Barrett's Wessex is a patient support and education charity for anyone concerned with acid reflux, persistent heartburn and associated problems and its possible progression to Barrett's Oseophagus and Oesophageal cancer. Our principle aim is to reduce the number of deaths from this particularly aggressive cancer by raising awareness of the condition. We hold regular monthly drop-in sessions wher members can have the opportunity to chat informally with consultant gastroenterologists and specialist nurses. We produce a quarterly newsletter and hold regular social events, we maintain an informative and authoritive website and facbook page. We have a range of information leaflets freely available by post or downloadable from our website. We are always available to provide illustrated talks to the public and professionals and have worked with the department of health on their national awareness campaign. Our group is free to join and we welcome new members.
